I am really excited about this blog 'Little Yellow Sticky Note Loves...pS Arkitektur' and I just know that you are going to be too!!!

This studio is ultra dynamic in so many ways. What I love about pS Arkitektur is that they are not afraid to use bold colour, graphics are an integral part in many of their projects and the furniture selection is just...wow!

A little bit about the studio straight from pS Arkitektur:

We enhance our clients image and business capacity through innovative architecture and design. Our motto is Architecture for change. We work with a broad range of projects ranging from urban planning to buildings and commercial interiors.
Our aim is to create unique buildings and interiors that speak for themselves. We reveal the potential, visualize the hidden and suggest improvements. Architecture and design is a means of competition that creates withstanding value. In cooperation with the client we define the specifications and goals of the project in order to create a design that communicates and strengthens the client´s identity.
Our strength at pS Arkitektur is that we take an overall responsibility for the project throughout the process - from conceptual sketches to finalised product. Along the way we combine our knowledge and experience with that of the other collaborators.

pS Arkitektur have a range of amazing office fitouts which they have completed, I decided to focus on one of their accomplishments called 'Dynabyte'.

Dynabyte is a young and fresh Swedish IT consulting firm that required a new office for their growing company. pS Arkitektur have created a fun and playful interior, yet, it has serious elements to meet the functional needs of the business.

There is a perfect juxtaposition between the city graphic on the wall and the fun bright yellow elements of this space.
I also love what is sitting on the table...

It is so enjoyable to find innovative workplace design all over the world. Companies, from every part of the globe, are now understanding the importance of providing a unique working experience for their employees. As designers, it is our role to continue to challenge the idea of a 'typical' workplace. pS Arkitektur do just that with Dynabyte and many of their other office designs.

pS Arkitektur are also responsible for the new Skype office. I have included a few teaser photographs...check out pS Arkitektur's website for the full details.

Have a wonderful week!

When I was presented with Aplomb by Foscarini I was puzzled and intrigued by the idea of a concrete pendant light. I loved the concept and was delighted when I was sent this video to see how it is made. It's pretty amazing...

Aplomb is essentially a small hanging lamp in concrete offered in three, coloured finishes which celebrate its personality, bringing together different styles, from the traditional grey of cement in its raw state, which adds depth to the volumes, to a stylish white hue, and a warm intense brown.

This is a photograph sourced from The Cool Hunter website. This is an office fitout for Azure in the Ukraine showcasing this beautiful light. For more information on this project: http://www.thecoolhunter.com.au

In Australia, Aplomb can be purchased through the wonderful team at Space. Click on their logo to be taken directly to their website:

Back after popular demand, 'Little Yellow Sticky Note Loves...'!!!
For this second instalment I have roamed the globe in search of a source of design inspiration. I found it in the way of  adventurous architectural firm, Studioprototype Architects, located in Greece.

Studioprototype is a Greek and English speaking architectural design practice based in Greece. It is run by partners Sofia Limpari and Neal Shah.

Studioprototype carefully evolve their designs closely with their clients to produce intelligent architectural design solutions of high quality in a bespoke, adventurous and responsive manner. They specialise in one off private residences, private residential housing, commercial and retail environments and the renovation and conservation of historic and traditional buildings throughout Greece.

I knew Studioprototype was special when a restaurant / bar in Greece caught my eye. Take a look...

Click the images if you would like to see a larger view

Located in a traditional mountain village in Northern Greece, this restaurant and bar interior celebrates the elemental simplicity of natural materials. The subtle tones of stained oak timbers and light travertine surfaces juxtaposes against untreated decorative iron work and dark furniture and fittings. The result is a contemporary aesthetic set within a traditional vernacular environment.

Now, I can not just leave you with one project. Studioprototype have also completed a rustic style bakery called Elektra located in Edessa, Greece.

This shop is part of a chain of family-run bakeries called 'Elektra' located in Edessa, Greece. Studioprototype had the opportunity to redefine the look of its shops with this pilot project. The shop is small covering only thirty-five square metres and occupies a strategic corner plot on the main pedestrian high street.

Working with a narrow, linear floor plan a rigorous language was developed for the shop based on a long marble food counter acting as a monolithic focal point of the spatial arrangement. Light and luminosity flood the interior of the bakery accentuating the food items on display like gold. Exquisite materials such as Carrara marble, wood and brass serve as the backdrop for all food products instilling the rustic and artisan aspect of making bread. A sense of craftsmanship is imbued with the exterior of the shop being entirely clad in cedar like a well tailored suit. Punctuating the cedar cladding on the long facade, a black powder coated steel window box projects outwards to serve as a seating area and bar for customers inside and outside the shop.

A big 'Thank You' to Studioprototype for allowing me to blog about their projects. Please check out their website:

Please feel free to make comments as I would love to know your thoughts.

Welcome to the first instalment of  'Little Yellow Sticky Note Loves...' blog topic.
Recently, one of my favourite furniture suppliers, Stylecraft, brought to my attention the brand 'Cascando'. Let's just say that I fell in love immediately. I was presented with endless furniture accessories for the office and home that were completely drool worthy!

Firstly, a little bit about Cascando:

Since its establishment in 1998, Cascando has grown into a leading Dutch producer of high-quality, expressive interior accessories for the office and home.

And in 2011, they are still constantly on the move!
This season, not only do they have fifteen new products to surprise you, but also a new digital newsletter to inspire you: the Cascando Design Update. It tells you all about what they are doing.

Check out their website (it has a link to subscribe to their newsletter):

And now for what you have all been waiting for...the products...

Snow, Frost & Flakes

It's cold outside..

Coat stand Snow is a striking, white coat stand with a top in the shape of an ice crystal. With a completely white textured finish, Snow has a clean-cut, minimalist feel. Snow can hold 24 coats and lends a dynamic touch to any interior, whatever the season.

The Frost side table, like the Snow coat stand, is entirely finished in white and has a satin glass top. Flake is the wall-mounted version of the Snow coat stand.

Flake has a matt white textured finish. When mounted on a coloured wall, Flake forms an expressive and striking element in the interior. Flake can hold four coats.

Leaf Magazine Board

The sturdy shape makes Leaf highly suitable as a free-standing item. The warm grey colour has an informal feel which fits into any environment. Leaf is stable, can be folded flat and is easy to move around. Leaf magazine board is made out of MDF. Color warm grey dark.

Tree

Inspired by Nature

Tree is a stable, freestanding coat rack which can hold as many as 20 coats. In white, green or warm grey, Tree forms a colourful and light-hearted centrepiece, whether at the office or at home.

Nature series

The new Tree coat rack forms part of the new Nature series by designer Robert Bronwasser. Alongside the coat rack, the Nature series consists of a wardrobe unit, wall hooks, side table and a brochure and whiteboard holder. The organic design works well in combination and lends any room a light-hearted touch.
